Hello and welcome to the very first post of my crochet blog! My name is Nya, the creative force behind Nims' Wares, and I’m beyond excited to finally get this journey off the ground. This blog is a space for me to document my progress, share ideas, and connect with others who love crochet as much as I do—or those who are just starting their journey.

A Bit About Me

I'm a lifelong student with a passion for math, languages, and problem-solving. You’ll often find me experimenting in the kitchen, cooking meals and baking sweets—although I tend to make more sugary treats than anyone needs. Thankfully, I have plenty of friends and family to share them with!

Beyond crochet, I love helping others, whether it’s guiding someone with language learning or helping a friend find the right pair of glasses (a little nod to my day job). I embrace my nerdiness through fandoms and hobbies, and my faith plays a huge role in shaping who I am. It keeps me grounded, and I hope to incorporate those values into every project I undertake.

Why I Started Crocheting

My crochet journey began during a difficult time in my life. I was struggling with a chronic illness that left me with a lot of free time, so I picked up a crochet hook and started creating. What began as a way to pass the time quickly became a passion. I discovered how much I enjoyed the process of turning yarn into something both beautiful and functional.

What's Coming Next?

The world of crochet is vast, and I can’t wait to dive into all it has to offer. Here are just a few things I plan to explore:

Cooking-Themed Projects: Think potholders, dishcloths, and food-shaped amigurumi. Functional items that are both cute and useful are right up my alley!

Experimenting with Different Crochet Forms: I plan to try it all—Tunisian crochet, mosaic crochet, amigurumi, and whatever else sparks my interest along the way.

Pattern Development: I’m looking forward to creating my own patterns and sharing them here. Whether it’s a cozy blanket or a quirky food-themed project, I hope my designs will inspire others.

Tutorials and Crochet Basics: I want this blog to be approachable and helpful. I’ll share tutorials that teach the basics in a way that’s easy to follow, even if you’ve never touched a crochet hook before!
